Since 1930

The firm

J Edwards Glass was established in 1930. We are based in Wolverhampton and we work across the West Midlands. Our trading address is Unit 35, Fordhouse Road Industrial Estate, Wolverhampton.

The firm was founded on craftsmanship and good customer service, and those principles are still how we work. Today they sit alongside modern glazing techniques and materials.

Who we work for

We work for commercial and domestic customers. Our commercial work has covered education, heritage, leisure and retail, from schools, gyms and leisure centres to bars, restaurants and heritage buildings. At home, we fit and repair windows, doors and glass.

Our services are commercial glazing; domestic windows and doors; secondary glazing; fire, acoustic and decorative glass; mirrors; leaded lights and stained glass; glass cut to size and splashbacks; and emergency repairs. Each has its own page, linked from the services page.

How a job runs

At the start of each job we assign a Glazing Manager. They scope the work and agree the schedule and the price with you.

Our glaziers then carry out the work, supported by an experienced supply chain. The job may be a simple installation, an emergency repair or the restoration of a heritage building. Where a job is complicated, we put our experience and our suppliers’ knowledge to finding a way through it.

What stands behind the work

• We are CHAS accredited.
• Our glaziers are DBS checked and first aid trained.
• They complete asbestos awareness training every year.
• Our staff are trained to reduce waste on site.

Emergencies

We run an emergency repair service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. One telephone call reaches an experienced fitter.
